Chapter 2 - Pozitive and negative
Now that you have started to ask questions and look for good questions, you need to make a realistic, objective distinction between what is positive and energetic and what is negative and energy-consuming. The most useful highlighting exercise is the one in which you count to a thousand in your mind. It is an exercise of focusing and increasing rational attention, but the more you count, the more you will notice that other ideas and thoughts that appear to you. What you need to do is count how many thoughts are positive and how many are negative. You do not develop the idea that appears, but only analyze it if it is positive or negative. For this you should feel what energizes you and what does not, so I add a preliminary stage in case you do not know what gives you energy, to discover yourself as a person to see what you like and what you do not – a small parenthesis, most people have a big or small map already formed by experiments.
Let's get back to counting negative and positive thoughts. When you finish counting you will see the result and if the number of negative thoughts is greater than the number of positive thoughts the more you will have an answer on your state of absence of energy, sluggishness and lack of motivation. You are overloaded with negative thoughts. You can manually make adjustments, however it depends on the real percentage. It is useful to apply for a longer period of time a system in which you consciously choose positive thoughts to the detriment of the negative ones that you reject and choose not to think about them.
Each person is different so it would be strange and wrong to categorize you, to choose a category for you, however in the age of information and the internet the biggest source of negative that subconsciously affects any person is the news. Most news channels abound with accidents, disasters, deaths, scandals, diseases and epidemics, real or imagined dangers. All this negative information that you register will force your mind to make a constant effort to rebalance the positive-negative balance.
An informed man is a strong man - this is a lie. You have to think about how many news directly affects your life. The answer is probably almost none. Maybe some could affect your life at a indefinite moment in the near or distant future. If something dramatic were to happen close to you you would know faster than those who write the news. So, once the news that really affected you would appear you would probably say – I know I was there.
If none of it directly affects your existence then it represents a negative emotional burden or in academic terms: stress.
The second big category is related to social networks. Essentially an online social network is useless. The time you spend following other people is a wasted time. The time you spend affirming, posting things about yourself is also wasted time because the only important opinion about what you do is your own. Separately, instead of looking for your life story, looking for adventure, you spend time following someone else's story. You have an observer role, you praise them, you criticize them depending on what they do. Let me tell you something important - no matter what they do, whether they succeed or fail, they are on the right track. What is the right track? The one where at an advanced age they will sit with their group of friends (I hope real and not imaginary) and tell about what they have done. They will laugh of their failures, of the ridiculousness, at the attempts that now may have seemed shameful. Then the fact itself will no longer matter, but the story. You can't tell what you didn't do. You can't tell what you observed, commented on, praised. Stories are about what you tried and what you did. The result is actually the story of life. A life lived is a life of trials, good or bad.
Let's not get carried away from the positive and negative topic. If you eliminate negative information from the news, from social networks, you will find that you have gained a few hours every day to do something you like. You can choose to do absolutely nothing, it is still more useful than charging yourself negatively.
The previous chapter - asking questions gives you the opportunity to evaluate information. It gives you a logical shield that protects you. You need training every day because every day you will be exposed to news and information that you do not choose but just receive. How does it work? Let's say you removed news sites from your usual search and you go to work - on the way you will see billboards with various products and services that make your life better. You start asking questions: would it be useful? Of course it is, how much does it cost, how long does it take to deliver. If you didn't pay attention to the content of the manipulated advertisement, it's good to highlight it: the text, the usefulness, the promotional low price from a large number to a small number, limited stock. You basically asked the questions required by the manipulation in that advertisement. So you didn't choose the right questions, such as: why am I seeing this advertisement? How does it help me to see the product and know its price? Did I choose to see the product or was it someone else's choice? Why did I see it? Did I fit into a category or randomly? and then you move on to the reasoning we discussed: how does the product help me? Does it really help me or increase comfort? it shortens an activity but do I want to shorten that activity? There are benefits of the activity that it shortens still found in the new activity? How much does it cost? How much do I earn per hour and how many days do I have to work to get the product? Is it worth sacrificing income for so many days to have this? So many days means so many hours of work, so how much of my life do I have to give to have the product? Because that's how it is, in the end everything comes down to time in your life and your time is limited. A few years of youth, a few years of maturity and a few years of old age. That was an advertisement on a billboard or on an advertising machine. And you see dozens, hundreds a day. And now you don't think that in fact a good part of the stress comes from the unsolicited information which thus becomes negative information. It's something that others choose for you to do. They simply expose the advertising close to you and you read ….
To balance the positive-negative balance, you make efforts and consume energy in the process. You consume little energy when you become aware of everything and ask yourself questions. The more you train in question-based reasoning, the stronger you will become and the energy consumption will be less and less. There are many sources of negative information and I encourage you to analyze them, understand them and put them where they belong. Energy consumers or nothing.
You also need to rationally and continuously search for positive energy. The greatest source of positive energy is nature. To observe birds, animals, insects, to see sunrise, sunset, rain, fog. To enjoy the mixture of colors , the different tonality of sounds, the smells that float hidden in the air, to feel the perfume of flowers, to feel the salty smell of the ocean. Everything gives you peace because everything gives you energy. Besides that, no one wants anything from you, no one forces you to do anything. Everything is defined, functional, and if you choose, you can enter nature at any time, in the rules of nature and have your role.
The second great source of energy is related to the rare and beautiful feelings of love, friendship, honor, respect, faith. You know this feelings , you know they're there but you don't constantly look for them. And when you need to put light in your soul, you don't know what to look for because you lack the constant touch of positive feelings.
So ask questions all the time to find out if the environment around you is positive or negative and evaluate your state to see what percentage of positive or negative you have. Maybe it would be good to broaden the overall picture a little. What are you? a consumer and a producer of energy. How do positive and negative manifest themselves on a physical level? Through emotions. Positive emotions to positive and negative ones to negative. Your body recharges itself with energy every night through sleep. However, the energy charge during sleep can be damaged by the nuance recorded during the day. What does this mean? It means that if you do not act rationally to balance the positive and negative in your life, then the negative side will become the majority, and the energy charge will no longer function completely but partially as a survival instinct. This is how you end up having days when you wake up in the morning tired, with no desire for anything, no energy and you end up hating everything you have to do. You know that story that everybody else are to blaim except you, right? It is exactly your fault because you do not let positive energy charge you. Because you do not look for it. You think about vacation when you will go somewhere for a week, where you can just relax and recharge your energy. One week out of a year. Seven days out of 365. It is clear that it is not healthy.
On this planet, nature remains the greatest source of energy that is next to you and lets you take advantage of it and recharge yourself. You just have to constantly choose to do this, to choose to feed yourself with energy, which you achieve if you open your energy gates to receive it. What does this mean? How can it be done? Meditation. Meditation is the way to become receptive. Meditating in the middle of nature is like connecting to a perfect charger. You may say that you don't know how to meditate. Read chapter 1 again and ask the questions. The answers only appear if you ask questions. What is meditation? How is meditation done? What are the meditation techniques? It's a bigger topic, but now we're going to discuss meditation in the middle of nature. For this, all you have to do is sit comfortably and let your senses activate. Listen to the wind whispering through the leaves of the trees, listen to the quarrel of the birds hiding among the branches. Smell the scent that is carried by the air, think about how the flowers, the leaves, the grass smell. Take a handful of soil and smell it to record the smell in your memory. Put your mind to work and create positive things about the handful of soil you are holding. Think that on that ground a knight knelt 500 years ago when he offered a flower to a girl. You can also imagine funny things – on that ground a dog stood 200 years ago and exactly there a flea fell when the dog scratch.
All this activity is actually positive charge. You can do it anytime if you choose to do it. Find a little piece of nature close to you. Go, look, find a place where a tree grows. Give the tree a name. Talk to it. Tell it what's on your mind. The tree is a living being connected to the energetic mass of the earth, that is, our mother. It grows, moves, blooms, multiplies and then dries up. It is useful to talk to a tree because it is the purest energy that you can address. Try and you will see. During charging you will see that worries no longer seem so heavy, that stress decreases and then you will smile, then the smile will go from your face to your soul. Do this every day no matter what your chores are. I don't think there is a more important job than taking care of your health and energy, right?
These are models for managing the negative things in your life. If you want to evolve then you need energy. You will see how you start to sleep better if you achieve balance. When sleeping it is very important that before going to bed to activate mind control. Although the mind during sleep is selective and deals mainly with strong emotions, it is still influential. So before you sleep you must think only of positive things and reject anything negative. Creating a comfortable, restful space means preparing your bed every night – and for this you must make an effort. Taking care to feel good in your own skin, maybe a nice shower, a little massage to the muscles that hurt. All this preparation does not take more than an hour but it changes your next day. You will see if the effort is worth it after you try it. The difference between preparing for rest or throwing yourself into a dirty bed and thinking that tomorrow you will start all over again is colossal.
Your body reacts to the negative through emotions, sadness, anger, fear, disgust, etc. It is important that in addition to the experience itself, you analyze the state and the source. Emotions don't happen out of the blue, so if you identify the source, you can stabilize or neutralize it through a positive charge. That's actually emotional awareness. Knowing what you feel, why you feel, and choosing the activity that balances you and compensates for the emotion you feel.
Let's return to meditation for a second to enhance its role. Meditation itself means time with yourself, evaluating your present state, remembering the past, or plans and dreams about the future. All very important and correlated because your present decisions become the past that organizes the future. (The future is made by your decisions. You decide who you are with each decision. So you can actually change your past. If you change your past, it means that the future will be different.)
You can choose various strategies or periods of meditation such as retreats. However, I recommend daily and short-term meditation. Other types are just a process development while daily meditation is a process creation. Of the process of thinking, of asking, of evaluating and of keeping things under control. The best period is usually in the evening when the sun sets. Not before sleep because it will include both positive and negative. You will start from the past and is normal. Wondering have I achieved something good or bad. I am grateful and proud of what I achieved today or the path I am following in life. Then let the mind choose and bring to the attention of the rational what it wants. It is good to let the subconscious bring forward what is important and what is necessary. Work to solve the highlighted problem for a set time. After the time is up, whether you have found a solution or not, you will no longer work on solving it today. After you have closed the discussion about problems, savor the moment. It is the moment when you have no worries, no weight weighs you down. There was a wise saying that we are what we imagine ourselves to be. If you see yourself strong, fast, agile, adaptable, life is beautiful. If you see yourself weak, slow, then life is hard and dark. I will extend the image to our worries and responsibilities of all of us. If you look at them as beasts that bite you all the time, life is hard. If you see them as mountains that are difficult to climb but can be climbed, then life is beautiful. Why? The mountains are always there, but they don't force you to climb them. You choose to climb them.
Maybe you are smiling now. Maybe you feel the weight on your shoulders lighter, or maybe you have taken the bag of worries and put it next to you for a moment. You will pick it up later and you will continue to carry it, just from time to time put it down and smile.
May the path of your life go forward or upward. But may it go with a serene forehead and a smile on your face.
